Mohammad Shahjahan, a Public Health professional and World Health Organization (WHO) retiree has worked with WHO for about 20 years in several countries in Southern Africa, Middle-East and South-east Asia with various capacities. Dr Shahjahan’s areas of work with WHO covered both technical and management functions like, sub-regional nutrition officer for southern-Africa based in Zimbabwe, WHO Nutrition officer to provide technical support to Palestine Ministry of Health, Head of Health Systems team in Indonesia and Head of Reproductive Maternal Neonatal Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) team in Myanmar. As Public Health Administrator for WHO Myanmar, he led Country Programme Planning, Monitoring and Donor coordination functions for over five years. He also worked for UNICEF-Uganda as an International Consultant for “Nutrition in Emergencies” for few months. Before joining WHO international positions, Dr Shahjahan worked with several international NGOs in Bangladesh. He acted as technical advisor of MI-Tuft University project on Nutrition, HKI Dhaka; led Bangladesh country program for the Micronutrient Initiative (MI), a Canadian organization; Interim Medical Director and Program Coordinator of Children’s Nutrition Unit- a centre and urban community-based Mother and Child Health and Nutrition project of Save the Children Fund (UK) in Dhaka Bangladesh. By education, he is a medical graduate from Bangladesh, got his MSc in Mother and Child Health (MCH) from London University and a diploma certificate course on “Nutrition Program Monitoring and Evaluation” from Tufts University, USA.

Prior to his current position, he worked as the Technical Lead Engineer at Nagalay Services Ltd. from August 1, 2022, where he played a pivotal role in driving technical innovation and overseeing engineering teams. Before joining Nagalay Services Ltd., he served as a Senior Software Developer at Web for Solution Ltd. from September 1, 2019, to July 30, 2022, where he contributed to the development of cutting-edge software solutions. Earlier in his career, he held the position of Senior Web Developer at Web Host Bd from September 6, 2017, to August 30, 2019, where he specialized in web development and optimization. With a proven track record of leadership and innovation in the software industry, Md. Shah Jamal continues to drive strategic growth and deliver impactful technological solutions in his current role.
